Changan's Nevo E07 SUV-Pickup Hybrid Set to Launch in Nepal by January 2025

Nevo, a subsidiary of Changan Automobile, is set to introduce the E07, a versatile electric SUV that can transform into a pickup truck, to the Nepali market by January 2025.

The Nevo E07 is the world's first mass-produced SUV to feature such a transformer-like capability. Imported from Thailand, it is anticipated to be priced around Rs 1 crore in Nepal.

Built on Changan’s SDA (Super DNA) platform, the Nevo E07 is built with an all-aluminum alloy chassis and a unique dual-mode system that allows users to switch between SUV and pickup truck configurations. In its SUV form, it resembles an elongated coupe with a low beltline and an electrically retractable trunk cover.

Measuring 5045 mm in length, 1996 mm in width, and 1640 mm in height, the Nevo E07 has a wheelbase of 3120 mm. Despite its large dimensions, it accommodates only two rows of seating. It also comes equipped with air suspension and a continuous damping system for a smooth ride.

In China, the Nevo E07 is offered in both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) powertrains. The EREV model is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine delivering 105 kW (141 hp), while the all-electric version features a single rear e-motor producing 231 kW (310 hp).

The 4WD variant adds an extra electric motor on the front axle, boosting total power by 131 kW (176 hp). The E07’s battery capacity is 39.05 kWh, providing a range of 185 to 200 km based on CLTC standards.

The base all-electric Nevo E07 is driven by a single rear e-motor generating 252 kW (338 hp), while the 4WD model produces an impressive 440 kW (590 hp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.96 seconds. It offers two battery options, 70 kWh and 90 kWh, with a range of 551 to 701 km according to the CLTC cycle.

For safety, the Nevo E07 includes Changan’s self-developed intelligent driving assistance system, which features 11 cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and two lidars.

Inside, the front seats are equipped with dual zero-gravity features and multiple electric adjustments. The cockpit boasts a 15.4-inch central display, a ceiling-mounted entertainment screen, an AR-HUD, an 18-speaker audio system, and ambient lighting with 256 color options.
